Yay! So I entered a contest for Copperpot Woolie's birthday party on Etsy. The first prize was a new spinning wheel, which I didn't win. :( But i DID win 5 of Copperpot's 4 oz custom blend rovings. That is 20 ounces, which is a $50 value in the store. Yay.

I also went to a spin-in yesterday! I was only there for about an hour, but it was FUN. I got to meet several spinners in the Baltimore area, and even got to try out a few wheels! I tried the Ashford Traditional and Traveller, and I found that I REALLY liked the traditional. So that is what I am officially in the market for.  I really liked Gryphon. I bought some fiber from her shop and played with her daughter for a while, which was fun. What a cutie. I'm planning on going to the next spin-in, which I believe is on December 9th. I won't have a wheel by then, but I can borrow a wheel from Gryphon until I have one. And I will have one by the January spin-in.

So I have a huge pile of fiber at home that is waiting for me to have a wheel.

It's so nice to hear from you! I LOVE your wheel, and I can't wait until next month. I really enjoyed the spin in. I couldn't stay very long, but I plan on spending more time there next month. I'm still wheel-less, so I'm planning on borrowing another wheel and bringing some crocheting next month too.

How long do the spin-ins usually last?

Excellent. Next time you can continue to try other kinds of wheels. Try them until you find something that really speaks to you.

First find what you love to spin on, then we'll find you the wheel. It will come to you when you're ready (sounds awfully mystic, huh).

Spin ins last until we get tired and have to go home. I have to leave at about 6 for an hour long drive back to Laurel. We all tend to have vacated by 6 or 7.

Looking forward to seeing you next month :)
